ZENZO Monthly Report: November 2020

ZENZO Ecosystem
9 min readDec 1, 2020

November proved to be another active month, as the ZENZO team has not only been focusing on development of ZENZO Core, ZENZO Arcade, ZENZO Forge, a new website, KOTA, but also being listed on a decentralized exchange (DEX) that uses atomic swaps. This is a massive milestone for ZENZO, as well as any project that utilizes a cryptocurrency. The decentralized exchange, BlockDX, now provides 115+ new trading pairs for ZNZ and the start of a bridge into different ecosystems. As mentioned above, the latest version of ZENZO Core (v2.1.0) was released this month, without any issues. Further progress and upgrades were made on the ZENZO Arcade and Forge, which can be reviewed on the official GitHub, as well as ZENZO’s social media.

ZENZO Core Development

In November, the latest version of ZENZO Core v2.1.0 was released with some new, interesting, and improved features. This version is a highly recommended, but non-mandatory update. The latest release is available for all of the main operating systems that includes Windows, Mac, and Linux. Version 2.1.0 has a wide range of improvements on the network side, as well as the client side. Some of these updates include: a decentralized price display (next to the balance in the GUI, which currently only displays USD, but plans are to include other fiat price tickers and cryptocurrency price tickers), Masternode.conf hot-reloading (users no longer have to restart their wallet to start their masternodes), ZNZ burning (users can now not only burn ZNZ in the debug console, but they can include a unique message that will show on-chain of up to 80 bytes of data), scam protection (when a user types a command in the debug console that could expose private information, they are warned that this may be a scam and not to share this information with anyone), and improved performance and interaction with the ZENZO Forge. Read the full release article, here.

Key Features & Updates

  • Decentralized Price Display (USD)
  • Masternode.conf Hot-Reloading (No Restart Needed)
  • ZNZ Burning & On-Chain Messaging
  • ZENZO Wall (Displays ZNZ Burn Messages in Real-time)
  • Scam Protection Warnings (Debug Console)
  • Improved Performance & Interaction with the ZENZO Forge
  • Increased Security & Stability
  • Patch CVE-2018–17145 (INVDoS exploit)

ZENZO Wall

The ZENZO Wall is a decentralized application (DApp) built on the ZENZO Blockchain, utilizing the burn feature to create an immutable message board. Anybody can easily post to the ZENZO Wall from inside their ZENZO Core Wallet (Debug Console). It supports small texts, short messages, and clickable URLs. This makes the ZENZO Blockchain usable as an immutable and decentralized micro-feed, that anybody can host or participate in. Furthermore, this is just a small example and application showcasing the additional potential that ZENZO can be utilized for.

ZENZO Arcade Development

This month, ZENZO Developers have updated and refreshed a good amount of the ZENZO Arcade, including the implementation of a new, advanced payment processor. The ZENZO Arcade can now handle multiple orders and multiple payments, all simultaneously — no more queues for purchasing games. Other aspects of development include a new and improved UX/UI. Orders now display vital payment information in an intuitive and user-friendly manner. It shows the status of the order, the confirmations of your payments, and can also handle underpayments (which then asks the user to deposit x amount of the extra, required ZNZ). Orders can now be canceled, which makes the payment processor erase an order from memory. All-in-all, the new system is much more efficient and the community is loving it.

At the moment, the games on the ZENZO Arcade are only purchasable with the ZENZO Coin (ZNZ). Previously, both PIVX and BTC were accepted and are in the process of being reintegrated, along with the consideration of other cryptocurrencies as payment methods. If you would like to see a certain coin or token as a viable payment method on the ZENZO Arcade, please feel free to share your suggestion in the #arcade channel. Currently, ZENZO is planning a way to offer more game-related goods, both digital and physical for everyone.

The ultimate goal is to have an all-in-one, digital marketplace for users to be able to buy, sell, and trade everything related to gaming. This provides its own list of challenges, but that is why each part of development is broken down into phases. The first phase was just having a means for people to be able to buy video games with their cryptocurrency. The second phase will be to expand what all products are sold, along with providing game developers a launching pad for selling and marketing their games. In later iterations, there will be a means for holders of ZENZO Forge Items (ZFIs) to be able to buy, sell, and trade them safely on this marketplace.

Stay tuned for the updates and announcements regarding the latest development of the ZENZO Arcade. It is important to have feedback and as much testing to be able to provide the most optimal and smooth user experience. More information and updates will be shared on social media, as well as the official ZENZO Arcade channel in the Discord, here.

ZENZO Forge Development

This month was the start of a brand new revamp for the ZENZO Forge, which has completely optimized the backend and network communication. Major upgrades have begun, which include: introducing the ZFI-1 Standard (ZENZO NFT Standard), ZFI-1 Derived Profiles, improved synchronization, advanced item lineage (identifies item version), improved UX/UI (use, setup, etc.), optimized communication between the ZENZO Forge and ZENZO Core, and many other enhancements that can be viewed on the ZENZO Forge GitHub. Two additional developers have recently joined to help advance development of the ZENZO Forge, covering both the frontend and backend. Progress on the ZENZO Forge v1.0 (official public release) is well underway and on schedule.

The Checkpoint Level 12 with PIVX & Splinterlands

The Checkpoint: Level 12

With Special Guests from PIVX & Splinterlands

This last Checkpoint event was the twelfth official event from ZENZO and it welcomed back two special guests that were on some of the previous events. One of these guests is an official ally of ZENZO, PIVX, and the other is the blockchain game built on Hive, called Splinterlands. Both Bryan “Snappy” Doreian and “Cryptosi” from PIVX joined the host, Tendo, in discussing past and current development of PIVX, the importance of privacy, and the future of cryptocurrency and blockchain. The next special guest was Aggroed of Splinterlands. Since the last time that Aggroed and Splinterlands were on The Checkpoint, they have been through a lot of growth and development, which was covered in the event. As always, The Checkpoint likes to create opportunities for everyone to be able to learn about new projects, games, and also be able to potentially earn some prizes to start their journey.

Watch for news and updates regarding who the special guest will be and what all you can expect. As always, the ZENZO Team is open to feedback from the community: what you want to see, talk about, review, and discuss. If you have any comments on what you would like to see at the next Checkpoint event, go to the ZENZO Discord and comment in the #💫-the-checkpoint channel.

New DEX Listing

This month, ZENZO (ZNZ) was listed on the decentralized exchange(DEX), BlockDX. BlockDX is one of the only truly decentralized exchanges that supports cross-chain or multi-chain atomic swaps. This enables the ability for people to trade different cryptocurrencies for ZNZ and vice versa. Some examples of supported swaps could be BTC for ZNZ, ZNZ for ETH, or PIVX for ZNZ. Currently, there are over 115 supported assets on this decentralized exchange, which you can view here. Read the full release article, here.
