ZENZO Monthly Report: September & October 2020
This article covers the monthly reports for both September and October 2020, as there were some events and updates that were better suited for one report. As the year starts to come to an end, ZENZO is focused on three key releases: ZENZO Forge v1.0, KOTA (Early Access), and a new website launch. With that being said, a new release is also on its way for ZENZO Core. Some of these updates and features are general overall improvements both for the user experience, network side, but equally important for seamless ZENZO Forge cooperation and communication.
Within these past two months, there has been great progress made in every department. Along with new listings, ZENZO has also welcomed onboard two new advisors that offer unique skillsets and experience to help ZENZO reach its potential. Not stopping with advisors, ZENZO has also started one new alliance with St. Ledger Marketing and renewed an alliance with PIVX.
ZENZO Core Development
ZENZO is now preparing for the next official release, ZENZO Core v2.1.0, which is a highly recommended, but non-mandatory update. This release will happen in the first week of November and includes a wide range of improvements on the network side, as well as the client side. Some of these updates include: a decentralized price display (next to the balance in the GUI, which currently only displays USD, but plans are to include other fiat price tickers and cryptocurrency price tickers), Masternode.conf hot-reloading (users no longer have to restart their wallet to start their masternodes), ZNZ burning (users can now not only burn ZNZ in the debug console, but they can include a unique message that will show on chain of up to 80 bytes of data), scam protection (when a user types a command in the Debug Console that could expose private information, they are warned that this may be a scam and not to share this information with anyone), and improved performance and interaction with the ZENZO Forge.
Updates & Features to Expect
- Decentralized Price Display (USD)
- Masternode.conf Hot-Reloading (No Restart Needed)
- ZNZ Burning & On-Chain Messaging
- ZENZO Wall (Displays ZNZ Burn Messages in Real-time)
- Scam Protection within the Debug Console
- Improved Performance & Interaction with the ZENZO Forge
*Never download the ZENZO Wallet from third-party sites and it is always recommended to download directly from the official ZENZO GitHub.
As ZENZO develops and evolves, it is time to have the ZENZO Coin (ZNZ) broken down into smaller units of measurement, to prepare for the times ahead. The smallest unit will be considered a ZEN. For example, just how BTC has a “Satoshi”, ZNZ now has “ZEN”. Reference the table below, if you have any questions or confusion. Learn more about the denominations and visit the ZNZ Denomination Table, here.
ZENZO Arcade Development
At the moment, the games on the ZENZO Arcade are only purchasable with the ZENZO Coin (ZNZ). Previously, both PIVX and BTC were accepted and are in the process of being reintegrated, along with the consideration of other cryptocurrencies as payment methods. If you would like to see a certain coin or token as a viable payment method on the ZENZO Arcade, please feel free to share your suggestion in the #arcade channel. Currently, ZENZO is planning a way to offer more game-related goods, both digital and physical for everyone.
The ultimate goal is to have an all-in-one, digital marketplace for users to be able to buy, sell, and trade everything related to gaming. This provides its own list of challenges, but that is why each part of development is broken down into phases. The first phase was just having a means for people to be able to buy video games with their cryptocurrency. The second phase will be to expand what all products are sold, along with providing game developers a launching pad for selling and marketing their games. In later iterations, there will be a means for holders of ZENZO Forge Items (ZFIs) to be able to buy, sell, and trade them safely on this marketplace.
Stay tuned for the updates and announcements regarding the latest development of the ZENZO Arcade. It is important to have feedback and as much testing to be able to provide the most optimal and smooth user experience. More information and updates will be shared on social media, as well as the official ZENZO Arcade channel in the Discord, here.
ZENZO Forge Development
The ZENZO Forge is an interdependent network that allows for blockchain scalability, specifically intended for gaming. This technology is entirely open-source and free for anyone to use, whether a gamer or game developer. With the ZENZO Forge, ZENZO has created a new standard of blockchain-backed assets, where users have complete control and ownership at all times. ZENZO Forge Items (ZFIs) are locked in a user’s ZENZO Core Wallet and can be smelted (destroyed) at any given moment. The unique aspect behind these ZFIs is that every item is completely different and also backed with a ZNZ value. For example, a game developer could craft the Golden Grand-master Blade and back it with 1,000 ZNZ. Once transferred or acquired in game, the user could then decide to play with this item, sell it to other players, or smelt (destroy) the item and receive all the ZNZ back (minus the minor blockchain fees). ZENZO takes no third-party fees from this service and intends to create the most friction-less experience for both gamers and game developers to be able to have blockchain-backed game assets.
Above is a screenshot of the latest ZENZO Forge release that includes the “ZENZO Games Manager”, where players can directly download ZENZO games within the ZENZO Forge application. This is one of the many new improvements users can expect for the official release of the ZENZO Forge v1.0. Additionally, backend improvements are being made to the network so that the ZENZO Forge can operate and communicate more efficiently with ZENZO Core and also improve overall scalability.
Progress on the ZENZO Forge can be publicly tracked on the official GitHub, as this technology is entirely open-source and free to use. Also, there are notifications in the #github-updates channel in the ZENZO Discord almost daily. Currently, the ZENZO Forge v1.0 is being worked on for the first official public release — providing the ultimate user experience. At the moment, game developers and users alike can test the fully functional prototype.

KOTA is a post-apocalyptic, FPS survival game that will first start out with a campaign mode and already in discussions for a multiplayer mode. The ZENZO Team has decided that much of KOTA will be community-driven project, where people with all different backgrounds and skills can have some influence on the direction of KOTA.
The first public release will be a limited testing phase, known as “Early Access”, and only 50 players will be able to join for this release. Don’t worry, if you don’t make the cut, you will be able to join for the Alpha Release. The ZENZO Team is looking for players with both passion and experience in the fields of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and gaming. Passionate players that want to be involved in game development, without being developers or programmers, this is for you!
The Checkpoint: Level 10 & 11
With every Checkpoint event that happens, more people are able to learn about different blockchain gaming projects, meet the team and developers, and also earn some great prizes. For the past two events, ZENZO was joined by 3 different projects: Neon District, Dissolution, and Age of Rust. For The Checkpoint Level 10, Marguerite deCourcelle of Blockade Games (Neon District) and Houston Song of Garage Studios (Dissolution) joined Tendo to discuss both games and the direction that they were headed. It was a nice experience having two guests at one event, as both Dissolution and Neon District have joined together and supported one another in their games.

The Checkpoint Level 11 was a unique event, as Chris LoVerme from Age of Rust joined for the full 3 hour event. During the course of the event, Tendo showcased the website and trailers of the game, as well as talking to Chris about his inspirations and motivations behind creating Age of Rust. Chris also informed the audience that he has placed puzzles in the game, some that are worth a total of 4 BTC and one epic easter egg that is 20 BTC. Furthermore, he shared about development progress for the next release of Age of Rust and what future players can expect for gameplay. At the end of the event, a total of $2,000 worth of prizes were distributed in over 10 marbles races to over 25 different winners, with a grand prize of 0.1 BTC.

ZNZ/ETH Pair Added on StakeCube
As ZENZO gets more connected into the world of blockchain gaming, it is also important to focus on building bridges between different games, ecosystems, and blockchains. One of the first steps for this is to be able to allow ZNZ to be traded with an ETH pair. ZENZO was first listed on the StakeCube exchange a couple months ago, with 5 trading pairs for ZNZ. These pairs include: BTC, LTC, DASH, DOGE, SCC, and now ETH. Read more about the ZENZO (ZNZ) listing on StakeCube, here.
In September, Hans Koning joined ZENZO as one of the most recent advisors. Hans Koning is well-known for his contributions to the DigiByte ecosystem. He is the Chair of the DigiByte Foundation and is constantly reaching out to kindred spirited projects to help further develop the blockchain space, boost adaptation, and most importantly, engage with and empower the community.
Lien Nguyen is the most recent advisor, that joined ZENZO in October. Lien is a business analyst and administrator that has been working on technology projects and startups for the past 7 years. Her focus is helping projects deliver on their promises faster and more accurately. Much of her experience is with GitHub, HTML, Java, Android/iOS Native language, and Hybrid development.
Alliance with St. Ledger Marketing
ZENZO is always looking to befriend other driven individuals that understand this emerging technology and its potential. Not only is ZENZO expanding its inner circle of advisors, but also creating new alliances. In the month of October, ZENZO just announced the newest alliance with St. Ledger Marketing, formerly Crypto Ants Marketing. This alliance was created to prepare for the year ahead, with several major releases in the works. Read more about this alliance, here.
Alliance with PIVX (Renewal)
ZENZO is pleased to announce that the official alliance between PIVX and ZENZO will continue onwards! The official alliance proposal was submitted after year 1, to remain in good standing, officially passed in the month of October. For those that are unfamiliar how proposals are created and passed/rejected in the PIVX Ecosystem, they work through a decentralized, community governance protocol through the masternode holders of PIVX. All masternode holders are able to cast their votes on the blockchain, which gives a voice to the community and determines the fate of which proposals succeed and which proposals fail. Read more about the overview of the alliance on the PIVX Forums, here.
